花魁の愛証- The love stories of an Oiran
Another picture I never got on dA because when it was finished it went straight to my seinor wall.

This is Soyer as you all know except instead of putting her in the garmet of a geisha, she is wearing the kimono and obi of an Oiran; a high class courtesan.

She is not happy that I did this to her (and she is smoking too!). She is a respected Geisha not an Oiran.

Sorry Soyer!

I love Geisha culture but the Oiran and Taiyuu are interesting too (they preceeded the Geisha). I love how elaborate the hair can be and the costume.

I hope the next time I am in Japan I can see the Oiran Dochuu that takes place every now and then. I have seen photos from them and it looks amazing!
